The AFL has announced Richmond’s senior coach, Damien Hardwick and Team of the Century member, Michael Green, will be inducted as AFL Life Members.

The duo, recognised for their service to the game, will be formally inducted along with six others at the AFL’s Annual General Meeting in March.

Hardwick receives his Life Membership after his combined tally of 300 AFL games as a player and coach.

He played 207 senior games for Essendon and Port Adelaide from 1994-2004, winning a premiership at both clubs, and has been Richmond’s senior coach since the 2010 season.

Green was awarded his Life Membership for his ‘Special Service to the Game’, a decorated career of 146 games for Richmond, including four premierships in 1967, ‘69, ‘73 and ‘74.

Green is also in Richmond’s Team of the Century, served on the Club’s Board and match committee, as well as both assistant coach and reserves coach. He has been a Director of AFL SportsReady, member of the AFL Tribunal, and his current AFL involvement since 1998, is a role on the AFL Appeals Board.
