The Tigers will regain experienced duo Jacob Hopper and Dylan Grimes for the annual clash with the Demons.

Inside midfielder Hopper has been out since Round 2 due to a knee injury, while key defender Grimes missed the past three games with a wrist complaint.

Senior coach Adem Yze said the pair's return would give the team a big boost, as the Tigers look to bounce back post-bye.

"It's awesome. To get some leaders of our footy club back in there, not only with the experience but to help with our organisation and things like that," Yze said.

"They've both been really frustrated that they haven't been able to get out on the field and play the game they love and help our young players out.

"So, to have them out on the field...is going to be really nice for our footy club."

Richmond has also recalled Sam Naismith and Sam Banks for Wednesday night's big occasion.

Banks is back for his fourth senior outing of the year after the young wingman picked up 17 disposals, four marks, three rebound-50s and a goal in Round 3 of the VFL.

Ruck recruit Naismith, who made his Richmond debut in the Opening Round, will run out in the Yellow and Black for the second time after dominating in the VFL Tigers' first three rounds, averaging 29 hit-outs, 19 disposals, five marks and a goal a game.

Out of the side is Jayden Short due to soleus injury he sustained in Round 5 against West Coast, and omitted trio Jacob Koschitzke, Kane McAuliffe and Tyler Sonsie, who have been named as Richmond's three emergencies.

The Club will name its substitute 60 minutes prior to the first bounce on Wednesday night.

Yze said the marquee match was one the Tigers were "really lucky to be involved in".

"We know the privilege of playing... it's just a great round of footy," Yze said when speaking to the media on Tuesday morning.

"It's a great spectacle for our Club that doesn't go unnoticed."

The clash at the MCG will be broadcast live on Channel 7, FOX FOOTY and Kayo Sports.

Fans attending are encouraged to be in their seats by 6:30pm, with the pre-match ceremony commencing from 6:50pm.
